Bugs, Mushrooms and Worms, Oh My! Nature’s Decomposers
Citizens Bank Free Family Fun Day
Thanks to Citizens Bank, the Environmental Education Center is open free to the public the first Saturday of every month. Join us for crafts, nature stories, animal discoveries, hikes and more. No need to register.
Some of the smallest things in the forest have the biggest jobs to do! Decomposers like bugs, mushrooms and worms are the garbage men of the forest. They break down all the dead “stuff” that ends up on the forest floor and turn it into nutrients to help plants grow. Go for a nature walk to look for bugs, meet an earthworm and dissect a mushroom! No need to register.
