Sharing the Seas: Safe Boating for Sailors and Whales
Did you know that collisions with vessels is one of the leading causes of death among whales? Collisions can also cause thousands of dollars in damage to boats and injuries to crews. The US Sailing Association, Audubon Society of Rhode Island, New Bedford Whaling Museum and Whale and Dolphin Conversation have joined forces to educate sailors on how to take action and make choices that lead to better ocean conservation. This one-hour lecture provides tips and information on endangered species in our area as well as boater safety. Calling all sailors and recreational boaters - come make the oceans a safer place for both humans and whales!
