Springtime Birding


Spring bird migration will be in full swing by mid-May. Prudence Island is a wonderful place to spot a wide variety of species thanks to the diversity of habitats. Come explore forest edge, marsh, meadow and anywhere else the birding looks good!

What to Bring: lunch/drinks for the day, binoculars (we will have extra to share), bug spray, comfortable footwear. Registration is required due to limited van space. Ferry ticket is not included in the price and is approximately $12 round trip/adult and $6/child. You will depart on the 7:30 am ferry from Bristol, arriving on Prudence at 8:00 am; the return trip will depart Prudence at 2:30 pm and arrive in Bristol at 3:00 pm.

Cancellation Policy
If you registered for an outdoor program, please come dressed for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. If we need to cancel or reschedule the program due to the weather or low enrollment, we will contact you prior to the program date. If you cannot attend the course as planned, you may receive an Audubon Society of Rhode Island (ASRI) course credit. You must inform ASRI in writing or email, 7 business days prior to the first class meeting. Credits may be applied toward any future ASRI course within the next year. Cancellations within 7 business days are not entitled to a class credit or transfer of any kind. Certain courses are non-transferable and are indicated in course description. Refunds are given only if ASRI cancels a class. Refunds are processed within 30 days of the canceled class. ASRI reserves the right to change class locations, schedules, fees, and instructors when necessary. ASRI will not issue refunds for classes which have been postponed due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond our control; we will make every effort to reschedule such classes. Travel Programs and overnight programs each have separate cancellation policies, see course description for each policy.
