Weed Walk Nature Hike

“What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have you ever spent time pulling weeds or strolling in nature and wondered which of those plants may be edible or medicinal? Join local farming herbalist Jessyloo Rodrigues of Parcel Apothecary to discover weeds and wild plants that you can eat. You will discover and taste a handful of common weeds that might be found in your own backyard. Bring a notebook/camera to record plant identification, recipes and flavor profiles found in the plants we discuss. Please bring a water bottle and dress for the weather, this event is rain or shine.

Cancellation Policy

If you registered for an outdoor program, please come dressed for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. If we need to cancel or reschedule the program due to the weather or low enrollment, we will contact you prior to the program date. If you cannot attend the course as planned, you may receive an Audubon Society of Rhode Island (ASRI) course credit. You must inform ASRI in writing or email, 7 business days prior to the first class meeting. Credits may be applied toward any future ASRI course within the next year. Cancellations within 7 business days are not entitled to a class credit or transfer of any kind. Certain courses are non-transferable and are indicated in course description. Refunds are given only if ASRI cancels a class. Refunds are processed within 30 days of the canceled class. ASRI reserves the right to change class locations, schedules, fees, and instructors when necessary. ASRI will not issue refunds for classes which have been postponed due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond our control; we will make every effort to reschedule such classes. Travel Programs and overnight programs each have separate cancellation policies, see course description for each policy.
