Beekeeping Basics and More!

Looking for a way to do your part to help out pollinators? This six-session course will teach the basics of keeping honeybees. Local beekeeper Kevin England will discuss topics varying from honeybee health, to equipment and hive construction. This course will provide the information you need to start with backyard beekeeping. Participants will also receive the book "The Backyard Beekeeper," by Kim Flottum. Find out why there is so much "buzz" about bees! Note: there is no class on March 3.

Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium, 1401 Hope Street, Bristol, RI; February 24, 2019 March 10, 17, 24, 31 April 7, 2019. 2:00-4:30 pm; Fee for six week session: $65/member, $72/non-member. Ages: Adult.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICIES • Audubon reserves the right to change class locations, schedules, and instructors when necessary. • If Audubon cancels a program due to low enrollment or bad weather, you will be given a full refund within 30 days. • If Audubon postpones and reschedules a program due to weather or other unforeseen circumstance, refunds will not be issued unless you make a specific request via email to msolis@asri.org. This refund will be minus the on-line registration convenience fee. • If you cannot attend a program and wish to obtain a refund, you must inform Audubon in an email to msolis@asri.org, at least 7 days prior to the first class meeting. This refund will be minus the on-line registration convenience fee. • If you cancel less than 7 days in advance, you are not entitled to a refund. The registration fee will be considered a donation to Audubon. • If you do not show up for a program, you are not entitled to a refund. The registration fee will be considered a donation to Audubon. • Travel Programs and overnight programs each have separate cancellation policies, see course description for each policy.
