Explore the Estuary for Kids!

Two Dates Offered
Bring the kids along to explore the amazing diversity of the estuary, from tidal creeks and salt marshes to the rocky shoreline! Kids will use different nets and search for fish, crabs and shrimp in the shallow waters of Prudence Island. Walk the shoreline to see what the tide has left behind and watch the ospreys and egrets hunt for food. This is a great family program!

Depart on the ferry at 1:30 pm from Bristol, arriving on Prudence at 2:00 pm where you will be greeted by educators from the Narragansett Bay Research Reserve who will transport you for the afternoon in our passenger van. Depart Prudence at 6:00 pm, returning to Bristol at 6:30 pm. Ferry tickets are approximately $12 round trip for adults and $4 for children up to age 12. The ferry departs from the dock at the corner of Thames and Church Street in Bristol. What to Bring: snacks and beverages for the day; clothing/shoes that can get wet (and clothing/shoes to change into); insect repellent and sunblock.
