Spend the day on Prudence Island identifying and counting as many butterfly species as possible in an effort to track populations and abundance on the Island. This is a great way to see Prudence Island as well as the diversity of habitats, flora, and fauna present.
What to Bring: snacks/drinks for the afternoon, insect repellent, sunblock and comfortable walking shoes. We'll have insect nets and butterfly identification charts available. Reservations are required due to limited space. Participants will depart on the 1:30 pm ferry out of Bristol, RI arriving on Prudence Island at 2:00 pm where you will be greeted by Reserve staff who will transport you throughout the afternoon. Departure from Prudence Island will be at 6:00 pm returning to Bristol at 6:30 pm. The ferry departs from the dock at the corner of Church and Thames Street. Round-trip ferry ticket price is approximately $12/adult and $4/child up to age 12, but is subject to change.
