GROWING UP WILD Early Childhood Professional Development Workshop
 
The GROWING UP WILD Early Childhood Professional Development Workshop is being offered this Spring!  This teacher training is being presented through a collaborative partnership between the Audubon Society of Rhode Island and The Roger Williams Park Zoo.
 
Growing Up Wild! Exploring Nature with Young Children is an award-winning curriculum developed by Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies. This ian early childhood education curriculum that builds on children’s sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Through a wide range of activities and experiences, Growing Up WILD provides an early foundation for developing positive impressions about the natural world and lifelong social and academic skills. 
 
The workshop will take place over two sessions.  The first will be via Zoom on Thursday April 29th from 7pm -8pm. Maximum enrollment of 24 participants. 
 
Workshop attendees have a choice of when to participate in the second outdoor session of the workshop.  Once you register for the Zoom session, you will get links to sign up for the second outdoor session that best meets your schedule.  Choose either: Option 1 - Saturday, May 1st from 9:30am -11:30am or Option 2 -  Thursday, May 6 from 4pm-6pm.  
 
The outdoor sessions will be held in Smithfield RI at The Audubon Society's Powder Mill Ledges Wildlife Refuge and Headquarters. Each outdoor session is limited to 12 participants, and will be held primarily outside to ensure safety and maintain social distancing.   When they complete both sessions of the workshop, participants will receive the Growing Up Wild! Curriculum Guide, and 3 hours of Professional credit hours from the Center for Early Learning Professionals. Fee: $25
