Seals and Seabirds
Head out for a day of exploring beautiful Prudence Island with a focus on seals and seabirds. Begin by looking for a variety of bird species in a number of protected ponds and coves. Expect to see grebes, eiders, mergansers and many others. After warming up with lunch, we will head back out to the south end of the island to view the winter population of harbor seals that enjoy basking on the offshore rocks.
What to Bring: snacks/drinks for the day; camera/binoculars (we'll have extra to share); warm clothing and comfortable footwear. Registration is required due to limited van space. Ferry ticket is not included in the price and is about $12 round trip/adult and $6/child. You will depart on the 1:30 pm ferry from Bristol, arriving on Prudence at 2:00 pm; the return trip will depart Prudence at 6pm and arrive in Bristol at 6:30pm.
