Garden Tour of Prudence Island
Calling all gardeners and plant lovers! Travel to Prudence Island to explore some of the unique gardens kept by local residents and learn about the rich cultural and natural history of the island. Stops will include three to four private gardens, each unique in their varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and overall whimsy!
You will be greeted upon arrival to the island by educators from the Narragansett Bay Research Reserve who will transport you for the day in a passenger van. What to Bring: lunch/drinks for the day, insect repellent, sunblock, and comfortable walking shoes.
Reservations are required due to limited space. Ferry and Parking: Participants will depart on the 9:45 am ferry out of Bristol, RI arriving on Prudence Island at 10:15 am. Departure from Prudence Island will be at 4:15 pm, returning to Bristol at 4:45 pm. There is a free municipal parking lot in Bristol near the intersection of Church Street & Thames Street. Ferry ticket price is approximately $12 round trip, but is subject to change.
