April 19 – 23, 2021
Don't know what to do with the family during the school vacation break? Join Audubon for some springtime fun! Special programs and activities are available each day and are free with admission. Registration is not required. Face masks and social distancing are required. Participants must bring their own masks.
Nature crafts will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm each day, as well as nature stories at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. An animal interview will be available at 1:30pm.
Special programs listed below for children ages 6+ are also available each day at 11:00 am.
Monday, April 19: Binocular Basics for Families - Do you know how to use binoculars? Would you like to learn? Join Audubon for a walk on the trails, look for birds, and learn how to properly use optics. Binoculars will be provided, but bring a pair if you have them.
Tuesday, April 20: Powerful Pollinators – Why are bees and other pollinators so important? How do they impact our everyday life, and how can we help ensure their survival?
Wednesday, April 21: Cooking for the Birds - Become a “bird chef” and create unique and tasty dishes for the feathered friends in your backyard! This easy activity puts pantry items to use while helping the birds survive the cold winter season. (Not recommended for those with nut or seed allergies.)
Thursday, April 22: Wetland Exploration - Take a walk down to the freshwater wetland and discover animals that live there. Who might be awake this time of year? Who might still be sleeping? (Note that participants will not get wet.)
Friday, April 23: Turtle Races – Meet some of Audubon’s turtle ambassadors and learn about their survival skills. Watch them in a race! Who will win?
